• The anime has been met with mixed reviews, with fans rating the anime from decent to soulless to trying to figure out what it’s actually accomplishing.
• The anime didn’t follow a release schedule until around mid to late-2020 when it announced that it will follow a monthly schedule, despite concerns surrounding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
• On November 15th, 2020, the Saiyan Avatars, Beat and Note, alongside the new God of Destructicion Avatars made their anime debut, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Dragon Ball Heroes series. The special episode sees Beat tapping into Ultra Instinct -Sign-

Overview

Gohan wears a Gi that is the same as his father’s

Goku, Krillin and Yamcha wear the Turtle School uniform. This Gi is orange and blue, and has the Turtle School symbol on it. Goku wears this Gi in every major battle he fights in. During the Dragon Ball Z series, the symbol on Goku’s Gi was changed to King Kai’s symbol, the Son family’s «Go» symbol, and later disappeared until Dragon Ball Super.

King Piccolo, Piccolo and Gohan wear a similar purple Gi known as Demon Clothes with Namekian shoes. During the Fusion Saga of Dragon Ball Z, when Gohan goes back to Earth after getting his power awakened, he asks Kibito to make him some clothes just like his father wears, so Kibito gives him an orange Gi resembling Goku’s symbol-less Turtle School uniform, referring to the color as similar to that of the dropping of the frogs from planet Popol.

Goku’s second son, Goten, also wears a Gi similar to that of his father. In «Gather for the Tournament», Videl briefly wears a Gi while training at her father’s dojo after completing her flight training before the World Tournament. Near the end of Dragon Ball Z, Goku’s granddaughter Pan is also seen wearing a Gi similar to that of the Turtle School but with no symbol, while Goku now wears a turquoise Gi.

In Dragon Ball Super, Goku Black wears a Gi with a black, grey and red color scheme and white Supreme Kai boots which is listed as the Dark Gi in Xenoverse 2.

In Dragon Ball GT, Goku’s student Uub wears a green Gi, while Goku now wears a blue Gi which resembles his first Gi that he wore in the beginning of Dragon Ball. After the Shadow Dragon Saga, Goku Jr. wears Goku’s old Gi. Other characters in the series who wear this type of clothing include Kid Trunks, Mr. Satan and Vegito.

Trivia

Beerus disguised as Champa in the Super Star Guide

• Champa’s name seems to come from «champagne», continuing the alcohol name puns that the Gods of Destruction and their attendants possess.
• In the Super Star Guide, a mini-comic features Beerus disguised as Champa. The disguise is the result of Beerus wearing Champa’s clothing and having Whis inflate his body, making him look identical to his brother. This would seem to indicate that Champa probably looked a lot like Beerus were it not for his weight.
• Interestingly, Fuwa whom Champa was life linked is also overweight which is in contrast to their Universe 7 counterparts (Beerus & Shin) who have more healthy physiques.

Appearance

Kefla is a young, slender woman of Kale’s average height. Kefla’s hairstyle is a mixture of both of those owned by the female Saiyans, being spiky like Caulifla’s with bangs framing both sides of her face while the majority of her hair is held up in a ponytail like Kale’s. Her facial features and eye shape are more reminiscent of Caulifla’s, but her complexion is a middle between both of their skin-types complexions. She wears Kale’s golden armbands however they are now the same shape as Caulifla’s wristbands, boots though the red part of them is replaced with the black of Caulifla’s, and a purple belly shirt with form-fitting purple pants (being a mixture of both of their pants) from Caulifla’s color scheme. On her ears, she has two green Potara Earrings.

In the manga, due to fusing while Kale and Caulifla were Super Saiyan, she’s stuck in a permanent Super Saiyan state and does not hold her hair up in a ponytail, which remains held up in a ponytail while Super Saiyan in the anime.

English adaptations

US (Funimation) version

Funimation’s GT logo. It is identical to the original logo used in the original Japanese dub and the Blue Water English dub, but with few minor details added. This logo was unveiled in the spring of 2003.

The English adaptation of Dragon Ball GT ran on Cartoon Network between November 7, 2003 and April 16, 2005, but the version by FUNimation had a major alteration: the first 16 episodes of the series, the «Black Star Dragon Ball Saga», were cut and replaced by a single US-only episode which summarized the episodes; this became the new series premiere and the rest of the episodes began with episode 17. This edit was implemented by the producers of the English dub to prevent viewers from possibly being put-off by these differently-toned early episodes. The 16 missing episodes have since been released as the «Lost Episodes». When first aired, Funimation recorded a new musical score composed by Mark Menza and the openings and closings were replaced with something completely different from the original. For example, a rap was used for the opening and used different clips from the show to make up the visuals. However, when FUNimation released the series to two remastered boxed sets in 2008, the original Japanese music was restored, and English versions of the opening and all four closings were created, which are all very close to the original versions. From early 2012 until January 2015, the FUNimation version, including the «lost episodes», was shown on Nicktoons.

International (Blue Water) version

Outside of the United States, (excluding Australia and New Zealand) a different English dub of the series was aired, featuring the voice actor of Canadian voice acting group Blue Water Studios. While the voices are different from both the American and international English dubs of Dragon Ball Z, the original background music by Akihito Tokunaga was kept, the episodes were aired in their proper order, and the scripts were kept much closer to the original Japanese version. However, the international version kept the original Japanese theme song but used English subtitles. An English version of the GT theme song was sung while this dub aired on Toonami in the UK, however these were different lyrics to the original song and not a direct translation.

Funimation Remastered Season and Movie Sets

In 2009, after the release of the Remastered Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT Season DVD Boxsets, Funimation announced that they would begin releasing Dragon Ball in Remastered Format beginning September later that year. They are presented in their Original Aspect Ratio 4:3 and are presented in a 5 Disc Boxset. Unlike the Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT Sets, the Dragon Ball Sets only include a 5.1 English Voice Track with Original Japanese Background Audio and Original Japanese Mono as Dragon Ball had never had an American Soundtrack.

On December 28, 2010, Funimation released Dragon Ball: Curse of the Blood Rubies to DVD and Blu-ray uncut and re-dubbed with their Dragon Ball Z Kai voice cast to Region 1 DVD. A complete box set containing all four Dragon Ball Movies was released in February 2011. All movies retain their original Funimation dub with the exception of Curse of the Blood Rubies.

Trivia

• Tarble and his brother Vegeta’s names are puns on the word «vegetable«.
• With the death of Raditz, he and Vegeta are also the only full-blooded Saiyan siblings alive in Universe 7.
• Tarble is also one of the three surviving full-blooded Saiyans to never die throughout the series. The others being Onio and Broly.
• Tarble is similar to Goku’s mother Gine as both are gentle-hearted pure Saiyans who lack the ruthlessness typical of Saiyans native to Universe 7. Additionally both Tarble and Gine were classified as low-class warriors which in Tarble’s case embarrassed his family the House of Vegeta leading to his banishment from Planet Vegeta.
• It is unconfirmed if Tarble’s future timeline counterpart survives in Future Trunks’ timeline, but if he did, then he was either killed as a result of Black and Future Zamasu’s Project Zero Mortals, or erased by Future Zeno, though another counterpart may exist in the timeline Future Trunks and Future Mai relocated to.

• God of Destruction’s Menace — An energy barrage technique used by Champa during his battle with Beerus in the Dragon Ball Super manga where he charges an energy sphere in a manner similar to a Kamehameha, then throws the sphere which breaks apart into 4 energy spheres which he can control in a manner similar to the Spirit Ball or Death Saucer. Champa uses it against Beerus during the flashback of their battle in the manga, though Beerus dodges the attack and deflects the blasts when they follow him to a nearby planet.
• God of Destruction’s Roar — Champa unleashes a powerful Kiai scream that forces his opponents to guard. However, he must be careful as he will tire himself out if he screams for too long. One of Champa’s Super Skills in Xenoverse 2.
• Chaotic Sphere of Destruction – Champa’s ultimate attack, he and his brother both prepare to use their respective versions against each other during their battle, however they are knocked out by their attendants before they can do so .It is his super attack in Dragon Ball Super Scouter Battle.
• Hakai — As the God of Destruction, Champa possesses the ability to destroy anything, which includes other Gods and ghosts

  Energy of Destruction — As a God of Destruction, Champa possesses the ability to give some of his energy to others in the form of an energy sphere capable of destroying other Gods or deceased individuals. However, as it is only a fraction of his power the energy can be contained or destroyed by other powerful beings, Gods of Destruction, or those who possess Godly ki though destroying it is extremely difficult unless one is a God of Destruction.

• Life Link — Champa’s and Fuwa’s lives are linked to one another, so if one of them dies, the other will die as well (in a manner similar to Piccolo and Kami) in order to prevent an imbalance between the natural forces of creation and destruction which Champa and Fuwa represent.
• God of Destruction’s Discipline — A smaller variation of Sphere of Destruction that appears as Champa’s Super Attack in Dragon Ball Heroes and Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission.
• Headshot — A powerful forehead flick used by Champa in Dragon Ball Fusions as one of his Special Attacks.

Personality

Despite being a fusion of Caulifla and Kale, Kefla’s personality is seemingly only identical to Caulifla’s, likely because Kale is shy and subservient to Caulifla in general. After being born, Kefla remarks she feels great, displaying Caulifla’s overbearing confidence. She also appears to be possessing the Universe 7 Saiyans’ desires to fight even stronger opponents and becoming stronger herself. During her initial scuffle with Goku, Kefla also displays Caulifla’s cocky attitude, calling Super Saiyan God Goku’s attacks «lame». Her overall confidence in such abilities also has Kefla believe she can beat Goku, even if he is in his blue form.

However, despite her immense confidence in her power, Kefla does seem to retain some of Caulifla’s respect towards Goku. Outright calling him a «worthy opponent», being delighted when Goku reciprocated by going Super Saiyan Blue, and seeming almost saddened when she thought she had defeated him easily, and smiled when he stood up after having taken a powerful blow. Also, Kefla did seem to be even more eager and excited when Goku managed to reactivate his Ultra Instinct Sign against her and the realization of being potentially defeated by him seemed to have made Kefla develop a strong determination towards defeating Goku to the point it appeared she was deliberately trying to destroy him in a fit of rage. In the manga, she displays an almost defeatist outlook when fighting Gohan, realizing there was no measuring up to his «almighty universe» and it was their fate to get obliterated.

Обычная трансформация Супер Сайяна у Броли дебютировала во втором фильме о нём, так как в первом эта форма была показана только во флэшбеке Парагаса.

Уже в своей форме Супер Сайяна, Броли перестаёт чувствовать боль от наносимых ударов. Это впервые видно во время первого боя с Гоку — Броли был полностью равнодушен ко всем атакам Гоку и его не смутил даже прямой удар в лицо. В этой встрече Гоку выжил только уворачиваясь от атак Броли. Это подтвердила ситуация, когда Супер Сайян 2-ой Стадии Веджета ударил Броли по шее размашистым ударом ноги и выстрелил ему в спину мощным энергетическим взрывом, но обе атаки не только возымели эффекта, но даже не пошатнули Броли. К тому же, когда впервые появляется обыкновенная его форма Супер Сайяна, она оказывается достаточно могущественна, чтобы победить сразу двух Супер Сайянов, пусть и детей (Готена и Транкса).

В трансформации Легендарного Супер Сайяна, все физические показатели, включая скорость Броли, гораздо выше, чем у любого другого Супер Сайяна. Для того чтобы прирост мышечной массы был пропорционален размеру его тела, рост Броли также сильно увеличивается после преобразования.

Известно, что трансформация Легендарного Супер Сайяна даёт безграничную выносливость и постоянно растущий запас ки. Однако, это приводит к тому, что накопившуюся ки нужно постоянно выпускать, так как силы Броли не растут вместе с ростом ки, поэтому оно начинает, судя по всему, оказывать давление на тело после переступания порога.

Под контролем Бабиди, Дарбра проверил Землю в 474 году на наличие людей с высокой боевой милой, но таковых не обнаружилось (Зет Воины на тот момент ещё не родились).

Дарбра впервые показан, когда Гоку, Гохан, Веджета, Пикколо и Курилин были приведены к Космическому Кораблю Бабиди Восточным Кайошином и Кибито, чтобы остановить воскрешение Маджина Буу. Знав о местоположении Кайошина, Бабиди приказал Дарбре убить всех, кроме Кайошина и трёх сильнейших из его компании, а затем заманить их на корабль. Одной атакой, он убил Кибито, плюнул на Пикколо и Курилина, превратив их в камень, и отступил обратно на корабль.

Дарбра провоцирует Гохана

Дарбра вместе с Бабиди наблюдали за вошедшими сайянами и Кайошином, приветствуемых Пуи Пуи. Веджета легко победил и убил того, что сделал и Гоку в битве с Яконом, перед тем как Дабура отправился на третий этаж на бой с Гоханом. В первом столкновении, Гоку предположил, что Дарбра по силе равен Селлу.

В середине боя, Дарбра материализовал себе меч и собрался убить им Гохана, но тот схватился за него и разломал пополам. Во время боя, Дарбра обнаружил злость в сердце Веджеты и его желание поскорее разобраться с Гоку, что дало Дарбре идею. Дарбра решил отступить и рассказать Бабиди о злом сердце Веджеты. Бабиди этим воспользовался и подчинил Веджету себе, чего тот и хотел, тем самым получил большую силу и наконец победил Гоку.

Когда Веджета отказался убивать Кайошина и Гохана, и продолжил бой с Гоку, этим занялся Дарбра. Перед тем как они начали бой, они были шокированы тем, что огромная энергия Гоку и Веджеты полностью наполнила его кокон.

Несмотря на обстрел Гоханом кокона Буу мощным Камехамеха, Маджин Буу появился в виде розового дыма и затем принял форму. Дарбра начал издеваться над детской внешностью и характером Буу, за что тот сильно ударил Дарбру и отбросил его в ближайшую гору, чем Бабиди был удовлетворён. Позже Дарбра кинул магическое копьё в Буу, но это не дало никакого эффекта. Дарбра затем сказал Бабиди, что Буу неконтролируемый и что он рано или поздно предаст Бабиди, но тот не захотел ничего слушать и сказал, что с Буу ему больше не нужен Дарбра.

Затем, Буу превратил Дарбру в большое печень и съел его, и смерть Дарбры вернула Курилина и Пикколо в нормальное состояние. В офисе Короля Энмы, Дарбре был вынесен приговор на отправление в Рай, ибо отправление в Ад только обрадует его.

Дарбра показан в Раю, обсуждающим местонахождение Гохана с Чичи, Булмой и Видель.

Последний раз Дарбра показан, собирающим цветы в Раю, ставшим душой с чистым сердцем. Но несмотря на такой поворот, он не был воскрешён на Земле вместе с другими невинными душами убитыми Маджином Буу. Веджета загадывал желание, чтобы были воскрешены только добрые люди как раз из-за того, чтобы злодеи вроде Бабиди и Дарбры не были воскрешены.

Совершенный Шенрон является третьим из четырёх Вечных Драконов и призван может быть только с помощью особых Драгон Боллов.

Пилаф и его команда добрались до Храма Ками и нашли Совершенные Драгон Боллы. Пилаф захотел наконец использовать Драгон Боллы и вызвал Совершенного Шенрона. Однако, к месту призыва пришёл Гоку, и Пилаф попытался его отвлечь. Гоку остановил ракеты роботов и Пилаф в злости пожелал, чтобы Гоку снова стал ребёнком, и с ним было легче справиться. Совершенный Шенрон принял это за желание и исполнил его, сделав Гоку ребёнком. Позже, Совершенные Драгон Боллы были использованы Бейби, чтобы создать планету Цуфур вместо Луны.
